A huge congratulations to Superintendent Bryan Long for earning the Washington Association of Agricultural Educators (WAAE) Visionary Impact Award! This statewide award recognizes leaders who have made significant contributions to the improvement, promotion, development, and progress of agricultural education, and honors Mr. Long’s dedication to the improvement and continuation of a strong agricultural education program at Finley School District.

The nomination highlights his work in the planning and construction of the CTE building in 2016-2018, providing students with a safe, modern facility purpose-built to support hands-on learning in agricultural and other career-related education, as well as his continued support as superintendent for building programs and courses that respond to workforce needs, such as the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preparation course.

“Through his vision, willingness to listen to staff, and commitment to turning ideas into action, Bryan Long has played a critical role in strengthening and advancing agricultural education within the Finley School District,” wrote Finley Agricultural Education Teacher and FFA Advisor Jennifer Yochum in her nomination letter. “His leadership has created a learning environment where students have access to modern facilities, innovative instruction, and opportunities to develop skills that will serve them in agriculture and beyond.”

With this state award, Mr. Long will move to the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) for consideration as the Washington state candidate for the regional award.
