Friends & Family Share Future Paths at Career Day

This year, many of River View High School’s Career Day presenters were friends and family of RVHS staff, creating an extra connection for students to potential career paths.
Cosmotologist and MarketingAnother excellent aspect of Career Day was exposing students to various careers within sectors.  For example, presenters represented health careers, from nurse practitioners, ICU nurses, mental health counselors, and advocates to emergency services, including 911 dispatchers, firefighters, and paramedics.  The STEM Foundation, PNNL, and Hanford represented STEM careers.

Also represented were the diversity of career possibilities at Hanford, such as law enforcement, including a sweet K-9 called ‘Honey.’  Marketing, Real Estate, Education, Cosmetology, and Truck Driving represented careers with varying schedules, environments, and independence.  Among the presenters were a few RVHS alumni reminding students of the unlimited possibilities achievable from attending this very school.

Multiple students reported to Rebekah Duty, school counselor, that the presentations gave them guidance and a vision for their future.  Principal Davis also mentioned how this year, career day was moved forward in a conscious effort to help students keep focused on the goal of education - helping prepare students to succeed in their chosen future paths.

Thank you again to all the presenters for your time and effort!
