Finley School District is proud to announce that Sydney Freitag has been selected as our 2026 Crystal Apple Award winner!
Ms. Freitag was honored during our Mid‑Year Celebration Staff PLC Day, where she was recognized for her outstanding commitment to students and education.
An English Language Arts and STEM elective teacher at Finley Middle School, Ms. Freitag is known for her energy, passion and ability to connect with students in meaningful ways. She builds knowledge and confidence while helping students feel valued and supported, both in and outside the classroom. To many, she is far more than a teacher, she’s someone students turn to for encouragement, perspective and guidance during challenging moments.
Ms. Freitag also serves as a mentor and advisor for several clubs and activities at Finley Middle School. From Math is Cool and Destination Imagination to Yearbook Club and even coaching Track at River View High School, she pours her heart into every opportunity to support students. She can also be found cheering on former students at their sporting events and is welcome with open arms by students. Truly, Ms. Freitag does it all.
We invite staff, families, and community members to join us in celebrating Ms. Freitag at the 2026 Crystal Apple Award Ceremony on Thursday, March 19, at 4:30 p.m. at Educational Service District 123 in Pasco. This public event highlights outstanding educators across our region. Congratulations, Ms. Freitag!
