Recently, during one of our district-wide PLC days, River View High School staff met to discuss school safety and strategies for maintaining a secure learning environment across Finley School District. The session featured presentations and discussions with Benton County Sheriff Office Corporal Eli Perez and Deputy Brett Hansen. The sessions focused on safety protocols surrounding lockdowns, emergency preparedness and recent trends within schools.
“We work (regularly) in conjunction with local law enforcement,” said River View High School Principal Chris Davis. “KPD will act on weekends, respond to reported tips and safety concerns and provide safety checks if needed.”
Hansen, who serves as River View High School’s Student Resource Officer, said his office is fully stocked and ready to handle any emergency that comes up across the district’s campuses. That includes having Narcan, tourniquets and other supplies at the ready.
We appreciate the ongoing collaboration with local law enforcement and remind everyone that If you see something, say something - visit www.finleysd.org and click on Report a Safety Concern.
