Finley School District is pleased to offer a new and exciting cyber school option for our youth! Students now have the choice of our traditional brick and mortar school, or a new online school program offered through the ESD 123 Partnership for Contemporary Learning (P4CL). Finley’s new Online Learning Program provides students with engaging, high-quality curriculum. The courses are customized to fit their needs, while teaching valuable technology skills that are essential for success in the 21st century.
Online learning is growing rapidly, and is in high demand throughout the country - and for good reason. Our district recognizes that online learning can be a great option for many students, offering advantages like personalized learning, individual pacing, and 21st century technology experience. Through our online learning program, we are excited to be able to offer courses in a truly state-of-the-art online program.
The high quality curriculum and an innovative software platform allow for customized learning. Each student has the opportunity to learn at their own pace to truly gain understanding. Additionally, each student will be supported online by a Washington certified teacher to provide the help needed to succeed.
Parent Involvement
Parent involvement and support are critical to student success. The Finley Online Learning Program gives parents the tools they need to support, motivate and monitor their student’s progress through a special homepage called the Parent Portal. Parents can quickly and easily see an up-to-the-minute detailed report of their student’s progress, grades, performance alerts, teacher communication, daily curriculum, and much more.
How It Works
Class begins when the student logs in to his/her student portal, a customizable home page where the student can quickly and easily access all of his/her online learning tools in one place. These tools include daily lessons, assignments and tests, grades, recent attendance, achievement intervention alerts, school and course announcements and more! The majority of learning happens through online lessons that are accessed through the Internet. Each lesson teaches through multiple learning styles, and includes instruction, practice, exploration, assignments and a quiz to check for understanding. Students turn in assignments electronically and receive grades and feedback from their online teaching team.
